User Data Deletion
You can ask HVC at any time to delete the personal data we hold about you, free of charge. This page explains how, what happens next, and which data we may be required to keep.
How to request it
There are two ways, with the same effect:
- On WhatsApp
- Message us at +506 8330 4262 from the number you used to contact us, asking for deletion.
- By email
- Write to [email protected] with the subject “Data deletion”, from the address you used to contact us.
Simply say you want your data deleted. The buttons above open the message already written.
How we confirm it is you
To stop someone else from deleting data that is not theirs, we reply through the same channel the request came from. If you write from a number or address different from the one we have for you, we may ask for an extra detail to confirm your identity.
What we delete
- Your name, phone number and email address.
- Your company name and the history of conversations and enquiries — over WhatsApp and email — associated with you.
- Any other personal data about you in our systems.
What we may keep, and why
If you have already hired services from us, commercial and tax law requires us to keep the accounting records of what was invoiced for the legal period. That data is kept only for that purpose and deleted when the period ends. Technical server and network logs are removed through their own rotation, normally within 12 months. We will tell you plainly what was kept and why.
Timeframe and confirmation
We will confirm, through the same channel and within five business days of your request, what we deleted and what we kept. That reply includes a reference code you can use to follow up on the request.
If you authorised us through Facebook or Meta
If you used an application of ours through Facebook or your Meta account, you can also revoke its access from there: on Facebook, Settings & privacy › Settings › Business integrations (or “Apps and websites”), select the HVC app and choose “Remove”. Then ask us to delete the data we had already received, using either of the two ways above.
Data that Meta or WhatsApp hold about you is managed by them under their own policies.
Your other rights
Besides deletion, you can ask for access, correction, objection or portability of your data. All of this is explained in the privacy policy. If you think we did not handle your request properly, you can turn to Costa Rica's data protection agency, PRODHAB.
